The University of Kansas seeks a temporary instructor in Classics for the Spring 2003 semester only (January 1 - May 16, 2003). The primary responsibility of this position is the instruction of three courses in the Classics Department. The schedule will likely include: a graduate course in Greek or Latin Literature, an intermediate Latin course, and another undergraduate course in ancient language, literature, or culture.

Required qualifications: Master's Degree, plus substantial progress toward the Ph.D. in Classics or related field; teaching experience in Classics. Preferred qualifications include: Ph.D. and publications. Salary: commensurate with qualifications. $15,000 for one semester, for candidate with Ph.D. in hand. Moving expenses (up to $2,000) also reimbursed. Summer session appointment with additional salary may also be available if the successful candidate is interested.
