Assistant Professor, one-year position, beginning August 15, 2001. Research area is open. The candidate should be able to teach courses in Greek and Latin (beginning through Master's level) and classical civilization, as departmental needs and personal preferences warrant. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in the teaching of Classical mythology. We will also be interested in candidates with demonstrable skill in speaking and writing Latin, who might be able to contribute to the new UK Institute for Latin Studies (see our web site for details). Course load will be three courses per semester. PhD required by August 15, 2001. Pre-arranged interviews will be conducted at the San Diego meeting of the American Philological Assn., January 2001.
