Senior Lecturer: Classics – Faculty of Human Sciences – Howard College Campus Reference No.: D60/2004.The Classics Programme seeks to appoint an energetic, committed, and experienced scholar and teacher with new ideas about developing the study of Classics among students in contemporary South Africa.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

An appropriate doctoral degree; Internationally recognised articles / books; an active engagement in research in Classics; Broad teaching experience in Classics.

The remuneration package offered includes benefits and will be dependent on the qualifications and/or experience of the successful applicant. The process of selection will commence on 20 August 2004 and will continue until a suitable candidate is appointed or a decision is taken not to fill the post. The successful candidate will be expected to commence service on 1 January 2005 or as soon as possible thereafter.
