The Department of Ancient Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County invites applications for a position at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure to begin Fall, 2012.
Degree: Requires a Ph.D. in Classics, Classical Studies, or in a closely related field, provided the candidate has a record of scholarly and pedagogical accomplishment in Classics.
Field: The successful applicant will be able to teach Latin and Greek at all levels and Classical Studies. While fields of specialization may be flexible and varied, the ideal candidate will contribute expertise on topics related to Latin and Greek language, literature, and Classical culture.
Experience: Evidence of teaching excellence and a strong record of scholarly publication and accomplishment are required. In addition, the candidate should have a record of administrative experience.
