  1. The Department of Classics announces two tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin on August 15, 2009, in this, the nation's youngest Classics Department. The appointed individuals will help in the building of the program by teaching Latin and Greek (at all levels) and broad survey courses of the literature and culture of the Greco-Roman world, and by participating in various departmental activities. Teaching experience preferred. A Ph.D. in Classics or related discipline by the time of appointment is required.

  2. The Department of Classics at the University of Miami is currently seeking a classicist for a one-year appointment at the level of Lecturer, to begin on 15 August 2008. The successful candidate must be competent to teach Greek and Latin at all undergraduate levels, as well as broad survey courses in the literatures and cultures of the Greek and Roman worlds. S/he will also be expected in various departmental activities. Teaching experience and an M.A. (or higher) in Classics or Comparative Literature are required by the time of appointment.
