The University of Miami is seeking a Hellenist for a one-year position at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin on August 15, 2006 in the University’s new Department of Classics. At present, the department has an undergraduate minor; an undergraduate major is in the planning stage. The appointed individual will help in the building of the program by teaching Greek and some Latin at all levels and broad survey courses of the literature and culture of the Greco-Roman world and by participating in various departmental activities. Teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Classics by the time of appointment are required.
