The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota invites applications for the Sundet Family Chair in New Testament and Christian Studies. The Sundet Family Chair in New Testament and Christian Studies will bring national renown to Religious Studies at the University of Minnesota, and enrichment to the Christian community and to the community at large. The Sundet Family Chair will have New Testament as a primary area of teaching and research, but will have training and interest in the history of Christianity sufficient to both teach courses in Christian religious traditions and be a leader in the guidance of Religious Studies at the University.


The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies seeks to appoint a scholar and teacher to begin fall semester 2013 (08/26/2013) or spring semester 2014 (01/09/2014). Appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May), and will be made at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor, tenured associate professor, or tenured professor, depending on the appointee's qualifications and experience, and consistent with collegiate and University policy.
