The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Classics to begin fall semester, August 27, 2007. The department seeks a broadly trained classicist with particular research and teaching strength either in Latin prose of the Republic and early Empire or in Greek prose of the fifth and fourth centuries. An active and coherent program of research and publication is essential, as is an interest in teaching and mentoring graduate students. PhD must be in hand by August 27, 2007.
