UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI (2 Positions) -- COLUMBIA, MO
The Department of Classics invites applications for a tenure-track position for a classicist specializing in late antiquity, beginning in Fall 2000. Candidates must be competent to teach both Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as a range of courses treating literature in translation. In addition the candidate will be expected to participate in the Honors College Humanities Sequence (101: the Ancient World; 102 the Middle Ages and Renaissance). Qualifications for this appointment include a PhD completed by May 2000, excellent teaching credentials, and a demonstrated potential for first-rate scholarly research. Primary research and teaching responsibility will be in Greek, but candidates should be competent to teach Latin courses at all levels as well as courses treating classical literature in translation.
