Visiting Assistant Professor, Classics (replacement position in Classics). The Classics Section of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures seeks candidates for a temporary replacement position in Classics, occasioned by a three-year administrative commitment. Annual contract. Area of specialization open. Competencies both within a robust undergraduate program in Classics and for General Education at the lower division level. Documentation of excellence in teaching required. Ph.D. must be awarded by the time of hire. Teaching load six semester courses per year. Teaching duties to include Greek and Latin language courses at all undergraduate levels and a variety of Classical Civilization and general Humanities courses. UM maintains strong programs in Classical Languages and in Classical Civilization with a fulltime faculty of four in Classics and other faculty members from associated disciplines.
