UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA - ASHEVILLE, NC (Two Positions)
University of North Carolina at Asheville has approved positions for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professors of Classics, beginning August 2002. The first post requires a Ph.D. in Classics and experience in teaching Latin and Greek language, literature and culture at all levels. Research interests in Latin literature preferred; expertise in web technology and its application to Classics is desirable.

The second post requires a Ph.D. and experience in teaching Latin and/or Greek language, literature and culture at all levels. Our preferred candidate will also have knowledge of some area of the ancient world beyond Greece and Italy, such as ancient Africa or the Near East. Expertise in web technology and its application to Classics is desirable.

UNCA is classified as a Baccalaureate (Liberal Arts) 1 College by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and successful candidates for both positions must demonstrate genuine commitment to undergraduate teaching both within the discipline and UNCA's interdisciplinary Humanities program.
