The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a 1-year position at the rank of either Visiting Assistant Professor or Lecturer to begin in August 2011. Candidates wishing to be considered for a position at the Visiting Assistant Professor level must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related discipline by August 1, 2011. The primary area of responsibility will be teaching Latin at the introductory and intermediate levels as well as mythology and classical civilization courses. The area of specialization is open, and candidates should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester for a Visiting Assistant Professor and 4 courses per semester for a Lecturer.
