UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME – NOTRE DAME, IN (Two Positions)
POSITION ONE: The Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track position in Greek literature or Greek literature and Greek history at the rank of assistant professor. The appointment will begin in August 2007. The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in Greek, Latin, and classical civilization, and will have research interests in a major field of Greek literature or Greek history. The Department seeks a candidate prepared to contribute to a rapidly expanding Classics program. Completion of the PhD is required. In exceptional circumstances a second appointment may be made.

POSITION TWO: The Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track position in medieval Latin at the rank of assistant professor. The appointment will begin in August 2007. The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of undergraduate courses in Classics (Greek, Latin, classical civilization) and both undergraduate and graduate courses in medieval Latin and medieval culture. The successful candidate will have research interests in medieval Latin studies broadly understood. The Department seeks a candidate prepared to contribute to a rapidly expanding Classics program who will also participate in the programs of Notre Dame's Institute for Medieval Studies. Completion of the PhD is required.
