University of Notre Dame - South Bend, IN
The Classics Department of the University of Notre Dame invites applications for an open-level professorship in Roman History to commence in the fall semester of 2001. The department has particular interests in the history of the empire and in Roman social history. The holder of this appointment could also elect to be a concurrent member of the Medieval Institute and the history department. In addition, the Roman historian at Notre Dame would benefit from the wider community of theologians, philosophers, and literary scholars interested in the ancient world.
