Applications are invited for a nine-month position as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Notre Dame. Applicants should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in Greek and Latin language and literature, and to offer courses in classical literature and culture in translation. Applications from candidates with research interests in Homeric studies, Greek drama, and Greek religion will be particularly welcome. A tenure-track search for a specialist in at least one of these fields will be held in 2005-06.
