The Department of Classics and Letters at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in the 2002-2003 academic year. We are particularly interested in candidates whose area of specialization lies in Latin literature and Roman culture. Candidates must be able to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, Classical Mythology, and Classical literature in translation. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to scholarly research and a demonstrated excellence in and enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching. The Ph.D. must be completed no later than August 2002. This position involves teaching four courses per year (two per semester).
