The Classics Department at the University of Oregon seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor for 2011-2012. This position is a full-time one-year replacement with a teaching load of six courses over three quarters. Teaching duties will include Latin language courses at the intermediate and senior undergraduate/graduate level and two Classics in translation courses (e.g., Roman Civilization, Ancient Epic) for majors and non-majors. It is expected that the successful candidate will supervise theses as required and participate fully in the academic life of the Department. Ph.D. in Classics required by July 15, 2011.
