UNIVERSITY OF OREGON – EUGENE, OR (Possibly Two Positions)
The Classics Department at the University of Oregon seeks one, possibly two Visiting Assistant Professors for 2007-2008. The first position is a full-time one-year replacement position with a teaching load of six courses over three quarters. The second position is a part to full-time position with a teaching load of 3-6 courses over two to three quarters. The first position includes teaching beginning Greek, upper-division courses in Greek and/or Latin, and one, possibly two Classics in translation courses (/e.g./ Greek Civilization, Gender and Sexuality in Antiquity, or Classical Epic or Tragedy) for majors and non-majors. The second position includes teaching upper-division Greek and Latin and Classics in translation courses for majors and non-majors. Ph.D. required by July 15, 2007. Evidence of teaching experience is important.
