The Department of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2002. We seek a specialist in any area of Greek or Latin literature, who can teach Greek and Latin at all levels, and who can offer courses that relate the study of antiquity to such fields as anthropology, cultural studies, comparative literature, film studies, or gender studies. Program Director - Arts and Sciences/Computing. The School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a director for a new under-graduate program in arts and sciences computing. This innovative program will give students a broad exposure to computing techniques in the humanities, social & natural sciences. The program director will be responsible for all aspects of program coordination. In addition, the program director will participate in a team-taught introductory course required of all students who wish to earn the computing certificate. The position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will have several years' experience teaching, substantial programming skills, and a demonstrated talent for innovation in academic settings.
