The Classics Department at the University of Puget Sound invites applications for a full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2002-03 academic year. Teaching responsibilities include ancient literature and/or culture courses, elementary Greek, and possibly intermediate or advanced language courses. Teaching load is three courses per semester. Ph.D. in Classics (ABD considered), and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education required. Applicants should be generalists with experience teaching one or both of the ancient languages at the introductory level. University representatives plan to attend the APA Conference and will be conducting some preliminary interviews at that time.
