Assistant Professor, Ancient History/Classical Archaeology. This is a tenure-track position in History, with a joint appointment in the Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO). Appointment begins 7/1/06. Ph.D. required in ancient history, classics, or classical archaeology with expertise in ancient trade or trans-oceanic connections. (Ph.D. candidates must demonstrate that they will complete all degree requirements by June 1, 2006.) Evidence of scholarly promise and ability for effective college-level teaching required.
