The Department of Religion and Classics of the University of Rochester invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Classics. Ph.D. or scheduled completion by July, 2009 required. Initial three-year appointment, renewable. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and will be expected to make distinguished contributions to the growth and enhancement of classics at the University through teaching, curriculum development, and co-curricular activities. Three undergraduate courses per semester, including Latin at all levels, some Greek (attic and koine), and occasional classical culture courses in English. Usual departmental and undergraduate advising responsibilities. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with other faculty in the development of an exciting new interdisciplinary program in Archaeology, Engineering, and Architecture.
