UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH (SEWANEE) – SEWANEE, TN (Two Positions)

POSITION ONE: The Department of Classical Languages at the University of the South seeks to fill a tenure-track position for a Hellenist at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall, 2008. Applicants should have Ph.D. in hand, and demonstrated teaching ability. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in ancient Greek as well as Latin at all levels, and courses in the first year of Sewanee's interdisciplinary Humanities program. Course load 3/3. Must demonstrate potential for and/or record of productive scholarship. Applicants should have Ph.D. in hand, and demonstrated teaching ability. We are looking especially for a specialist in Latin poetry. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Latin as well as ancient Greek at all levels, and courses in the first year of Sewanee's interdisciplinary Humanities program. Course load 3/3.
