Ancient Roman History. The Department of History at the University of South Florida (Tampa) invites applications for a tenure-track, entry-level assistant professorship in ancient history, with a specialization in Roman history. Ability to teach all periods of Roman history is required. Ph.D. in history or related discipline required by the time of the appointment in order to be appointed as assistant professor. The appointment will begin in August 2005. University-level teaching experience and publications are preferred as well as an ability to teach primary sources in their original languages at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Salary is negotiable. The deadline for receipt of applications is November 15, 2004. Applications should include three letters of recommendation plus a hard copy and electronic copy (on CD or disk) of a letter of application, c.v., and a writing sample (a chapter or article).
