1) The School of Religion, the Department of Classics and the Department of Art History of the University of Southern California invite applications for a tenure-track appointment in archaeology, assistant to senior associate level. The area of specialization is open and the home department for the tenure-line will be dependent upon the applicant's area of specialization. Applicants should be able to participate in interdisciplinary teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Archaeological experience and participation in field projects are highly desirable. Ph.D. expected by August, 2004.

2) The Department of Classics at the University of Southern California seeks to appoint an assistant or associate professor in ancient Greek literary and cultural studies. Candidates must be qualified to teach Greek language and literature at all levels and have an established program of innovative research. Special consideration given to candidates whose work has a strong interdisciplinary component. In addition to teaching a range of courses in the Classics Department the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the University's program in General Education. Ph.D. required by June, 2004. Appointment begins fall 2004.
