The Department of Classics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Latin philology at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 1, 2006. We seek applicants with a specialization in Medieval Studies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong promise as a teacher and a scholar. In addition to teaching Latin at all levels and other standard Classics courses, our new colleague will participate in the university's Marco Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (http://web.utk.edu/~marco). Ph.D. expected to be completed by the time of appointment. Salary will be competitive.
