The History Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Classics and World History for the 2012-2013 academic year. The one-year appointment, with possibility of renewal, will begin August 1, 2012, pending final budgetary approval. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in ClassicsorHistory with ability to teach introductory and intermediate Latin and Classics courses. Applications from advanced ABD candidates will be considered. Previous college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred, but is not required.
Successful applicants should possess the ability to design and offer an additional upper-level course or courses in a specialty field. Candidates also should be able to teach World History surveys as well as introductory and intermediate Latin. Teaching load will be 4/4, split between the History Department and the Foreign Languages and Literatures Department.
