The Department of Languages and Literature at the University of Utah invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Classics. The candidate's strength should be in undergraduate teaching at all levels. Candidates should be able to teach beginning Latin and Greek, upper division courses in both literatures, and general courses in Classical Civilization such as Myth, The Greeks, The Romans, Greek Tragedy and Ancient Religion. Competence in Ancient History or Classical Art and Archeology is desirable. Teaching load is three courses per semester. This is a one-year appointment, contingent upon availability of funding, with the possibility of renewal.
