UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT - BURLINGTON, VT

The Department of Classics at the University of Vermont invites applications for a one-year appointment as Full-time Lecturer beginning August 2011. ABDs will be seriously considered, but a PhD is preferred. The area of specialization is open, but applicants must have excellent preparation in both Greek and Latin language and a demonstrable record of outstanding teaching. The teaching assignment will include instruction in both Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as courses in Etymology, Classical Civilization, and Greek History. The Department will begin reviewing applications January 21, 2011, and continue until the position is filled.
