The Department of Classics at the University of Virginia announces a temporary junior faculty position for academic year 2002-2003. We welcome applications from specialists in any area of Greek or Roman antiquity except archaeology and art. Teaching will include courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Latin and/or Greek and a classical civilization course. Preference will be given to those likely to have their Ph.D. by the time of appointment.
