The History Department at the University of Washington invites applications for a position in ancient history, with a specialization in Roman history. Tenure-track assistant professorship, beginning September 2002. Applicants should have the Ph.D. or be in the final stages of their Ph.D. program, and will be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching and independent research. Candidates will be expected to teach an introductory ancient history survey class, and undergraduate and graduate classes in their areas of scholarly specialization.
