UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING—LARAMIE, WY
The University of Wyoming seeks a person to teach Latin at all undergraduate levels and to develop and teach Classical Civilization courses, primarily on Roman topics. Minimum qualifications are a PhD in Classics in hand by August 2006 and at least one year successful teaching experience, not counting TA work. Preferred qualifications are specialization in Rome, with developed expertise in history and in dealing with realia (e.g., archaeology, epigraphy, numismatics). This is a lecturer position, with the prospect of extended-term appointment. Rank is Assistant Academic Professional Lecturer; higher rank possible, depending on qualifications and experience. The anticipated workload includes teaching, service and professional development activities, and advising duties. Outreach teaching is possible.
