VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY – NASHVILLE, TN
The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting fall 2009. The candidate should be a Romanist with a research basis in Latin literature or Roman history. The department is interested in hiring a specialist in either the Roman Republic or the Late Imperial period. The successful candidate will fully participate in our department as an excellent undergraduate and graduate teacher. Candidates need to show a willingness to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, as well as to relate their research interests to teaching courses that explore broader Mediterranean cultures as a whole. We anticipate that the successful candidate will play an active role in further promoting the department's engagement with interdisciplinary connections between Classics and the university curriculum.
