The Department of History of Art invites nominations and applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor starting fall 2008. The candidate should be a Romanist with a research program in art and/or archaeology. Candidates for the position must have a substantial record of publication and demonstrate a continuing commitment to distinguished research. The successful candidate will fully participate in a program devoted to excellent undergraduate and graduate teaching (the department will initiate a PhD program in fall 2010). We expect that the successful candidate will play an active role in promoting the department's interdisciplinary connections and the university curriculum. The Department of Classical Studies invites nominations and applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor position starting fall 2008. The candidate should be a Hellenist with a research basis in Greek literature and culture. Candidates for the position must have a substantial record of publication and be able to demonstrate a sustained program of continuing research. The successful candidate will fully participate in our department as an excellent undergraduate and graduate teacher. Candidates need to show a willingness to teach Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as to relate their research interests to teaching courses that explore broader Mediterranean cultures as a whole. We anticipate that the successful candidate will play an active role in further promoting the department's engagement with interdisciplinary connections between Classics and the university curriculum. Prior administrative experience at the departmental level is desired.
