The Department of Classical Studies invites nominations and applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position starting fall 2007. The candidate should be a generalist with a research basis in Greek culture and literature. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research explores relationships with Roman and broader Mediterranean culture as a whole. Strong promise for sustained scholarly publication is required. Our department is committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and candidates need to show a notable ability and interest in teaching Greek and Latin at all levels and in expanding the introductory Greek program. We anticipate that the successful candidate will play an active role in further promoting the department's engagement with interdisciplinary connections between Classics and the university curriculum. PhD in hand no later than September 1, 2007, is required.
