The Department of Classics in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics, to begin on August 15, 2019. The teaching duties will include a variety of undergraduate courses in Greek and Latin and undergraduate courses in Classical Civilization. Teaching load is 2–2. A Ph.D. in Classics by the time of the appointment is expected, although we will also consider advanced ABD candidates.

In addition to completing the online application form, candidates should attach a cover letter (letter of application), a curriculum vitae, and a writing sample of at least 20 pages to their online application. A one-page statement addressing the candidate’s intended contributions to the University’s goals of diversity and inclusion, through teaching, research and mentoring, is also required.
