Chair in Classics. Victoria University of Wellington invites applications for the position of Professor of Classics. The appointee will be an outstanding scholar of international standing, with an active research agenda, as well as a dedicated teacher of Classics, who has demonstrated evidence of academic leadership and administrative capacity. The Professor will be responsible for the development of innovative teaching and research programmes as well as representing the discipline within the School, to the University, and to the wider community.

Classics at Victoria has about 1000 enrolments in Classical Studies, Greek and Latin, from first year to PhD level. There are eight staff with research interests in mythology, drama, history, film studies, social history, thanatology, and Greek, Roman and Etruscan art, as well as in Greek and Roman literature.
