The Classics Program invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Position begins in the Fall Semester 2008. Applicants should have a demonstrable record of outstanding teaching and scholarship. The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to program development. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Latin and Greek languages and literature at all levels, courses in translation dealing with classical civilization and culture, and courses in the applicant's area of expertise. The department is also interested in candidates who combine a thorough training in Classics with interests in other humanities disciplines. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate (M.A. courses).
