Villanova University is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Chairperson, Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures. Candidates should be a tenured associate or full professor with a terminal degree. This is a twelve-month position, beginning August 1, 2003. Salary is competitive. Teaching load: one course per semester. AOS: Spanish, French or Italian.

Candidates should have a demonstrated record of successful teaching, an established record in research and publication, strong leadership and communicative skills, administrative and strategic planning experience, and a deep commitment to shared governance. The department supports undergraduate majors and minors in Spanish, French, German and Classical Studies, and minors in Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Italian, and Russian.
