The Department of Ancient Mediterranean Studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professor of Classical Studies for the academic year 2019-2020. PhD is required by the start of appointment (August 2019).

We seek a generalist with an emphasis in Latin Literature to teach Latin language courses at all levels, mid-sized discussion-based courses on Greek and Roman culture in translation, and large lecture courses (at least one per semester). The teaching load is 3-3; curricular responsibilities will include assessment of MA qualifiers and participation in a one-hour introductory methods course (graduate level), as well as events coordination and outreach to local and regional classics organizations
