The Department of Classical Studies at Tulane University has been approved to make a one-year non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of visiting assistant professor (VAP) to begin July 1, 2021. We are seeking a well-trained classicist with experience teaching mythology, Latin and/or Greek language, and at least one course in the candidate’s area of specialization. Teaching duties for Fall 2021 will include 2 sections of mythology and one classical studies course in translation (TBD, see our course list for examples) with a similar arrangement for the spring. The VAP will be provided with an office, a computer, moving expenses up to $1000, and access to funds for conference attendance. The Ph.D. is required by June 30, 2021.
