The Department of History and Classics at Providence College invites applications from Latinists for a full-time one-year Visiting Faculty position for the 2018-2019 academic year. The teaching load is four courses (12 credits) per semester. Salary is competitive. The successful candidate will have Ph.D. in hand by date of appointment. Competence to teach Roman history and Latin language courses is required; experience in interdisciplinary and/or team-teaching is desirable.

The successful candidate will teach a general course on Roman history, undergraduate level Latin courses, a course in translation designed around the candidate’s interests, and a team-taught course in the college’s Development of Western Civilization program.
