The Department of Classics at the University of Mississippi (http://classics.olemiss.edu/) invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in August 2019. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. (in hand or with completion expected before August 2019) in Classics or Ancient History and teaching experience in Latin language and in classical civilization or ancient history. Candidates with strengths in Roman history and civilization are preferred. Fall 2019 courses are set: two sections of Latin 101 and one section of CLC 102 (Roman Civilization); three Spring 2020 courses will be chosen in consultation with the successful candidate.
