The Department of Classics at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a one-year position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics, for the 2019-20 academic year. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester. Courses will include mythology, literature in translation, and other subjects such as Greek and Roman civilization.
We seek a broadly trained classicist with demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate teaching and the desire to contribute to a vibrant and innovative program in Classics. A Ph.D. in Classics by the time of the appointment is preferred, although we will also consider advanced ABD candidates.
