WABASH COLLEGE – CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN (Two Positions)
POSITION ONE: The Department of Classics at Wabash College invites applications for a one-year leave replacement position as a visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor to begin July 1, 2011. The position is contingent on funding. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered. Candidates must be generalists with competence in teaching both Latin and Greek at all levels and courses in archaeology and/or ancient history. They must have a demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching. Course load of three courses each semester, probably including elementary Latin and at least one course of the candidate’s choosing. Salaries and benefits competitive, including institutional support for conference attendance. POSITION TWO: Wabash College invites applications for a position as a visiting Assistant Professor of Classics to begin July 1, 2011. This is a three-year position, with continuation contingent on a successful performance review at the end of the first year. Ph.D. required. Candidates should have scholarly expertise in the Greek world, but they must be generalists with teaching experience at all levels in both Latin and Greek and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who can support the offerings of the department and the college with scholarly expertise and teaching experience in one of the following fields: rhetoric, history, religion, art, economic history, linguistics, political science, or anthropology.
