The Art Department at Wellesley College seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track position in the Art and Architecture of the Ancient World, at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should hold the Ph.D or be near completion. Applicants should be equipped to teach the Art and Architecture of Ancient Greece and Rome, but candidates with an interest in the arts of the ancient near east and Mediterranean basin are also urged to apply. The position requires a demonstrated record of scholarly excellence and a strong commitment to teaching at all levels of the curriculum, including the department's team-taught introductory course. Collegiality and service on both departmental and college-wide committees are also expected.
