The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Western Washington University seeks applications to its temporary vacancy pool for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning September, 2013. Seeking generalist in Classical Studies to teach a broad spectrum of courses in the undergraduate curriculum, including courses on Greek Mythology, Literature of Rome and of Ancient Greece. Required of the qualified candidate is a PhD in Classical Studies or in a related field by time of appointment (ABDs will also be considered), expertise in teaching courses in Classical literature and civilization, and demonstrated excellence and experience in teaching. Also desired is a familiarity with and sensitivity to cultural diversity concerns.
