Wilfrid Laurier University – WATERLOO, ONTARIO, CANADA (Two Positions)
POSITION ONE: The Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a one-year Limited Term position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2006, subject to budgetary approval. We are seeking a candidate with a research specialty in Roman archaeology and archaeological field experience in the Roman Mediterranean world. An association with a current archaeological field school and/or interest in directing an archaeological field school would be an asset. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or be certain of its completion before beginning the appointment, and will be competent to teach courses in Classical civilization and in Latin at all levels. Other requirements include a demonstrated excellence in teaching, and evidence of a research program and publications. We are seeking a candidate with a research specialty in Greek history (including social history), with specific expertise in Greek epigraphy. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or be certain of its completion before beginning the appointment, and will be competent to teach courses in Classical civilization and in Classical Greek at all levels. Other requirements include a demonstrated excellence in teaching, and evidence of a research program and publications.
