Willamette University invites applications for a full-time position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics for 2005-06. Candidates must have at least a master's degree; Ph.D. or ABD preferred. They should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in Latin language and literature, courses in Patristics and/or the New Testament in translation, and courses on ancient history, preferably focusing on Roman imperial history. Applicants with the additional ability to teach a section of Willamette's freshmen seminar "War and its Alternatives" will be particularly welcome. Candidates are encouraged to apply electronically by submitting a letter of application detailing their teaching experience and a CV with the names and contact information of three referees to classearch@willamette.edu (MS Word attachments are preferred).
