The Department of Classics at Williams College welcomes applications for a one-year visiting appointment for the academic year 2002-2003 at the rank of Assistant Professor, although a senior appointment is possible in exceptional circumstances. Applicants should be prepared to teach a survey course in Greek or Roman history or archaeology in addition to an advanced Latin course on the Aeneid and other language courses in Greek and/or Latin. Candidates should have the Ph.D. in hand or be completing the dissertation and should evidence a strong commitment both to undergraduate teaching and to scholarship.
